Miniature of Saber Sikorski SZ 007
The miniature of Szabla Sikorski is a faithful reproduction of the original. It belonged to decorative sabers that were not allowed to be worn in the uniform. It differed from the statutory form of the handle and individual decoration. They were often offered as a gift to senior officers of the Polish Army.
The handle of Sikorski's saber was made entirely of brass and referred to the shape of the rifle. The handle closes the bow forming a right angle with the cross, and at the top reaches the head having the shape of a crowned eagle's head. The blade was richly decorated with inscriptions and ornaments - FOR HOMELAND HONOR and a Polish eagle wearing a crown. The saber was a name-day gift for the general from his soldiers, hence the inscription on the outside of the blade: KOCHANEM DOWÓDCY / GERENAŁOW -PPOR WŁADYSŁAWOWI Sikorskim / 19 17 VI 20r. DCY 9TH Infantry Division - from 22nd Infantry Regiment.
